As Data Strategist, you will responsible to lead the development of comprehensive data strategies across multiple business areas and collaborate with multiple stakeholders. The role must understand the business side of the equation and know the technology and analytics well enough to work with IT and the various business departments. Leveraging your experience you will work with stakeholders to understand business objectives, define key performance indicators, and provide relevant analysis, insights and recommended actions.
Duties
- Plays a key role in the development of data strategies for various groups (business leaders, data scientists, data analysts, and IT) to help shape the future of what data-centric organizations look like.
- Evaluates business requirements and works closely with stakeholders to identify key business needs and translate that into a clear data strategy solution.
- Focus on helping business organizations to achieve transformational change by designing, developing, and executing data strategies and work streams or enabling these organizations to do so more effectively.
- Defines and implements the processes, mindsets, technologies, and expertise required to convert data to action.
- Establishes a data roadmap and data management processes.
- Leads the development and execution of data strategy for data product(s) from beginning to end, including the gathering and execution of requirements.
- Continuously strives to improve the effectiveness of data management strategy by identifying new opportunities for data and analytics to advance business needs as well as identifying and conveying data quality and gaps.
- Manages, benchmarks and ensures continuous testing, cleansing and refining of data integrity and quality assurance processes to enhance data and improve results.
- Summarizes and conveys data findings to both a technical and non-technical audience.
- Remains current with emerging technologies and industry best practices; guides others on major strategies and methodologies.
- Prepares and delivers presentations and/or workshops to educate Executive Staff, senior organizational leaders, and business departments.
- Updates and stays current/relevant on job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks and participating in professional organizations
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements

- Understanding of technology and analytics to effectively work with IT and the business
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Technical Science or related field. Master’s Degree is strongly preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of wide-ranging experience working with and influencing multiple, cross-functional teams (business, data science, and IT) to ensure meaningful data collection or connections with responsibility for results, including costs and methods.
- Passionate about technology including data, analytics, machine learning, AI and Ad-tech
- Eager to learn and support the business strategy and desire to work on strategic projects
- Outstanding people and communication skills
- Exceptional in storytelling i.e. the ability to structure and synthesize within communication
- Affinity with data science and the analytics ecosystem (but not a programmer)
- Demonstrated experience with forming and implementing data strategy, management, governance, and architecture
- Proven track record of helping business customers/clients establish next generation data products and processes
- Well versed in the ingestion, transformation, movement, sharing, stewardship, and quality of data and information
- Experience in a fast-paced agile development environment and an ability to execute against aggressive timelines
- Skilled data development history including hands-on experience with various data technologies (RDBMS, NoSQL, Hadoop), as well as logical and physical data modeling.
- Able to provide guidance to subordinates within the latitude of established company policies
- Experience with advising subordinates how to meet schedules and/or resolve technical problems
- Responsible for the hiring, firing, and performance review of staff.
