Description
This Senior Manager ensures the release of product design data as well as the evaluation, approval, and implementation of all change requests to product data. Directly influences key aspects of Product Lifecycle Management (PLM). May act as a resource/project manager on the work efforts of individual contributors.
Responsibilities
- Ensures the reviews, validation, and implementation of requests for change to product record data, and aids in cost estimate implications.
- Delegates priority of and prioritizes (fast track/normal) Product Record changes based on input from various functions balancing Product Development, Marketing, Quality, Finance, and Operations needs.
- Partners with Engineering Project Management in an effort to stay abreast of the updates to product design data in order to help strategize migration throughout product launch.
- Recommends/suggests and utilizes planning tools (ie. checklists, project dates, implementation requirements) to facilitate BRT data transition to production and PLM processes.
- Responsible for the categorization of change requests for technical review; schedules CRB (Change Review Board) meetings, chairs meetings, and summarizes decisions and documents change activities, ensuring changes are accurate and performed on schedule.
- Supports changes to Product Development designs by identifying elements for implementation in preparation for release
- Develops and maintains metrics appropriate for tracking product data release and change, identifying reoccurring issues. Measures against metrics, reporting results to Product Development Management.
- Identifies, recommends, and implements value added process changes aimed at increased accuracy and efficiency with regard to product changes, working with relevant areas as needed.
- Approves and maintains standards, job aids, and work instructions associated with the release and change of product data.
- Represents or facilitates the role of the PLM business process owner in the project management office as a mirrored partner to the solution process owner in IT as it pertains to Corporate Projects and departmental continuous improvement efforts
- Identifies and approves training plans relevant to area of expertise and carries out PLM relevant training sessions
- Partners with Product Lifecycle Manager to host/co-host Label Review Board meetings to ensure synergy amongst label process owners as needed.

Qualifications
- Must have bachelor’s degree or related work experience
- Minimum of 10 years of wide-ranging experience in Product Record change due to product development enhancements, quality/test, customer issues, manufacturing feedback, supplier issues, finance impact, and marketing response with responsibility for results, including costs and methods
- Three years of experience in project management or similar capacity
- Advanced knowledge of personal computer use, Microsoft Office applications and the internet
- Relevant experience with SAP and PLM
- Demonstrated ability of working on issues of diverse scope where analysis of situation or data requires evaluation of a variety of factors, including an understanding of current business trends
- Demonstrated experience in determining the best use of resources to meet goals of assignments received in the form of objectives
- Demonstrated ability of leading cooperative efforts among members of project teams
- Able to follow processes and operational policies in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions
- Travel to various global vendors, plants, and Company locations infrequent but likely
- Experience with preparing and adhering to a budget
- Ability to work both independently and as a team member
- Customer service oriented
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
